One of the weirder NBA/hip-hop controversies – I guess it’s a controversy? – has reared its head again.
Earlier this year, Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball said on his reality show that no one listened to rap legend Nas anymore. Ball later tried clarifying his comments, saying that the kind of hip-hop his friends listen to now isn’t what Nas and others put out, that it’s Future and Migos.
That earned him a warning from Lil B with a potential BasedGod curse and much Twitter ire.
Now, it looks like there’s another shot across the bow. Here’s an Instagram post from Ball, in which his manager is wearing a t-shirt with Lonzo’s face Photoshopped on to the cover of Nas’s classic It Was Written album.
The question: Is that really necessary?
