Jimmy Butler wants out of Minnesota, and at least some Timberwolves fans are eager to see their disgruntled All-Star sent packing in a trade. Butler and the Timberwolves returned to the Target Center for their home opener on Friday, and Butler heard boos when he was introduced prior to the game.
Butler went on to score 33 points to power Minnesota past the Cavaliers, and there were a few M-V-P chants for the guard in the second quarter.
Butler said after the game that he loved the reaction he got.
“I love it. I love it. I think people kind of love to hate me sometimes. Say whatever you want to say, but it really makes me smile, what people think about me. But no matter what, you gotta respect my effort…. You may not like me. That’s OK. But as long as you know that my mind and my heart are in the right place, that I do everything to win and I would do anything for my guys.”
