Lonzo Ball returned to the Lakers lineup for Wednesday night’s preseason game against the Warriors, and he put together a solid effort in 23 minutes off the bench.
Still, for much of the offseason, we heard about Ball’s revamped jumper. In the workout videos, it appeared that the Lakers point guard cleaned up his shot and shortened the release. Magic Johnson even called the new shot beautiful – even though Lonzo claimed he didn’t change anything.
On Wednesday, that new shot was on display for one attempt from 3. And, well, at least Josh Hart liked it.
Ball took a wide-open look from 3-point range and left his shot dreadfully short.
He held the release point through the shot as if he thought he was making it. He did not make it. In the process, he gave Hart some excellent material for Twitter roasting.
Ball finished the game with seven points on 3 of 5 shooting. He was plus-8 in the Lakers’ 123-113 win.
