The NFL announced on Friday it was conditionally reinstating Miami Dolphins defensive end Dion Jordan, who was suspended for the entire 2015 season after multiple violations of the Substance Abuse Policy.

He is allowed to re-join the Dolphins immediately. But the league said in a statement that Jordan will be in counseling and will be re-evaluated before the regular season begins.

A diluted urine sample in December 2014 triggered the minimum one-year ban.

Jordan was the third overall pick in the 2013 draft.

He is due a $1.7 million roster bonus on Monday, according to Tom Pelissero of USA TODAY Sports.

In an interview with USA TODAY Sports two months ago, Jordan talked about a possible second chance with the NFL: “I’m not about to waste it. I can’t waste it. And I (expletive) love doing it,”
